I do not know whether or not the region falls under the King's historical sphere of influence, but what this recent upheaval indicates is that, even in a reasonably stable country, while many disputes over land ownership originate from the mistakes of the colonial administrations, some disputes actually date back earlier, to the pre-colonial era. I would suggest to Mr Ahoofe that blaming Africa's land issues solely on colonialism is a simplistic sim·plism

The tendency to oversimplify an issue or a problem by ignoring complexities or complications.
