Gerald L. Scruggs, Sr. was named Public Sector Area Manager of the Year for Colonial Life public sector channel. The company gives this award to the top public sector manager in the nation for achieving the highest results in sales, recruiting, service and training efforts for the year. Scruggs was also named second runner-up for Representative of the Year for Colonial Life's public sector channel. The company gives this award annually to the public sector benefits representative who personally achieves the highest sales. In addition, last year Scruggs was inducted into the company's President's Club, a special sales club honoring the company's top 1% of all salespeople of the year, out of 7,700 agents nationwide. Scruggs is in charge of overseeing the sale and service of Colonial Life products in the Detroit Board of Education and the Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce and he co-manages the sales and service to the City of Detroit and Greektown Casino employees, and Charter Schools as well.
