The closing will affect approximately 50 employees.

"This decision has been made to ensure that Colonial Guild makes the most efficient use of its facilities and maximizes manufacturing productivity," Tom Reigle, vice president, operations, Colonial Guild, Ltd., said. Other Colonial Guild facilities, he noted, are more modern, have available capacity and, unlike the Portland site, can be expanded to meet increased demand.
