Colonial Bank to install ATMs in 67 Wal-Mart Stores and Sam's Clubs.MONTGOMERY, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 5, 1995--Colonial Bank announced today an agreement with Wal-Mart Stores Inc., the national retailer, to place ATMs (Automatic Teller Machines See ATM. ) in 67 of Wal-Mart's Alabama stores, including Wal-Marts, Sam's Clubs and Wal-Mart Supercenters. The free-standing ATMs will be installed, operated and maintained by Colonial Bank Colonial Bank, a subsidiary of Colonial Bancgroup Inc. NYSE: CNB, is headquartered in Montgomery, Alabama. Colonial Bank has 300 branches in the states of Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Nevada and Texas. Its common stock is traded on the NYSE under the symbol CNB. and available to the public during each retail location's regular operating hours. The statewide ATM sites will offer the convenience of making a variety of on-site financial transactions including cash withdrawals, account transfers and account inquiries. The ATMs will accept Colonial's own ATM cards as well as ATM cards that are part of most local and national ATM networks, including Alert, Cirrus, Pulse, Honor, Plus and GulfNet, and VISA, MasterCard and Discover. This move increases Colonial Bank's ATM network to 133 locations in Alabama and southern Tennessee.
