Lowder, announced that at its meeting today, the board of directors declared a regular quarterly dividend of $.1875 per share of Colonial BancGroup common stock, a 10% increase over the $0.17 paid to shareholders quarterly in 2006. This represents the 17th consecutive annual increase in dividends. The dividend will be paid on February 9, 2007 to shareholders of record as of the close of business on January 26, 2007.
