Lowder, announced that, at its board meeting held today, a regular quarterly dividend of $0.13 per share of Colonial BancGroup common stock was declared.

At the quarterly meeting, the board of directors approved payment of dividends on November 8, 2002 to shareholders of record as of October 25, 2002.

It was also announced this week that the Company reached $15 billion in assets during the quarter ended September 30, 2002.
