Colombia production may rebound to 11 million bags.


BOGOTA Bo·go·tá  

The capital and largest city of Colombia, in the central part of the country on a high plain in the eastern Andes. It was a center of Chibcha culture before the Spanish established a settlement in 1538. Population: 6,980,000.
 -- Colombia expects coffee production to climb 18% in 2010 to 11 million bags from 9.5 million bags estimated for the current year.

 the president of Colombia's National Association of Coffee Exporters Jorge Lozano, next year's output will be boosted by tree renewal and warmer weather that is helping plants flower.

Colombian inventories of coffee, presently at about 700,000 bags, are likely to increase to 1 million bags within two years, still below historic averages, Lozano said.

According to market reports, price differentials for Colombian coffee rose in Europe's cash coffee market this week on renewed signs of tighter supplies from the country.
