Collision takes life of driver, 91, and critically injures police officer.

OAKRIDGE - A 91-year old Oakridge woman was killed and an Oakridge police officer was in critical condition after a traffic crash Monday afternoon at the intersection of Highway 58 and Crestview Street in Oakridge.

 1965 Ford Thunderbird The Ford Thunderbird was a car manufactured in the United States by the Ford Motor Company. Spalinger also was taken by ambulance to RiverBend, where she was pronounced dead after arrival.

Both drivers were reported to be using safety restraints, police said.

The highway was closed for about 41/2 hours.

State police asked that any witnesses who have not yet been interviewed by state police investigators to please contact Senior Trooper Dusty Sprague at 541-782-4374.
