Collins Pro Line 21 Continuum Installation Underway on Hawker 700; First European Certification Brings Advanced Capabilities to Current Generation Aircraft.

The first European installation of Rockwell Collins' Pro Line 21 Continuum avionics is underway on a Hawker 700. The installation and supplemental type certifications are being completed by Gulfstream Aerospace, Ltd., UK. System certification is expected this summer.

As a functional replacement for current electro-mechanical instruments, the Collins FDS-2000 provides significantly improved reliability and enhanced functionality. The system features five-inch liquid crystal displays with advanced graphics capabilities that support the display of terrain, weather radar and traffic collision avoidance information, flight management system maps and other advanced information on the horizontal situation indicator or multi-function display.

The Collins AHS-3000 features a digital quartz sensor, significantly improving accuracy and reliability while reducing volume, weight, power consumption and cost of ownership.

Pro Line 21 Continuum is highly versatile, allowing operators to select the level of capabilities desired while maximizing life cycle cost improvements. Built-in flexibility allows operators to choose individual products or integrated systems depending on operational needs.

Standalone Pro Line 21 Continuum installations featuring Collins FDS-2000 have also been certified by the FAA on the Citation III, Gulfstream II/IIb(R) and III(R) and Challenger 600 aircraft.
