Collins & Aikman announces Toohey joins Imperial Wallcoverings subsidiary as president.


CLEVELAND--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 30, 1996--James P. Toohey has joined Imperial Wallcoverings as president and chief executive officer. Toohey has been a top level executive at Hallmark Cards Hallmark Cards, a privately owned American company based in Kansas City, Missouri, is the largest manufacturer of greeting cards in the United States. Approximately 50% of greeting cards sent in the United States every year are manufactured by Hallmark.  Inc., where he held a variety of sales and marketing positions over a 30-year career.

Since early 1993, Imperial's top post has been filled by Bill Brucchieri who is a veteran Collins & Aikman executive. During Brucchieri's tenure, an extensive reengineering program was implemented which has dramatically improved Imperial's manufacturing, distribution, and customer service capabilities. Brucchieri resigned to pursue other interests, but will serve as a consultant to the company on a transitional basis.
