CollegeEdge Pushes Ahead on All Fronts; Market Leader Announces Record Online College Admissions; and New Product Enhancements, Customers and Partners.


NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 1, 1999--SNAP Technologies, Inc., producers of the CollegeEdge Web site and leaders in the online "going to college" market, today announced record numbers of online college applications for the 1998-99 enrollment season.

In separate announcements, the company announced new product enhancements for the CollegeEdge(R) Enrollment Services System (ESS (1) (Electronic Switching System) A large-scale computer from Lucent used to route telephone calls in a telephone company office. CollegeEdge Sees Strong Web Site Results

In releasing preliminary results for the 1998-99 college enrollment season, CollegeEdge noted monthly visits to www.CollegeEdge.com had increased from 350,000 in February 1998 to 1,300,000 in February 1999, a 400% growth rate. Online college application volume increased 600% year-over-year, exceeding the industry average of 140%.

U.S. News & World Report will use CollegeEdge's core transactional "going to college" functionality on its www.usnews.edu Web site. As part of the agreement, all of the online applications of colleges who partner with CollegeEdge will be available from, and promoted on, the U.S. News & World Report Web site. Site visitors will be able to use the CollegeEdge inquiry tool to easily direct e-mail inquiries to higher education institutions. Using CollegeEdge Recruiter, college-bound individuals can register themselves for recruitment earlier in the admissions process.
