College students dig into pockets to help rebuild devastated areas.Byline: The Register-Guard College students aren't letting their tuition bills stop them from helping out Asian tsunami victims. Across the state, college students are holding fund-raisers, passing the hat and digging deep in an effort to aid relief efforts. At the University of Oregon The University of Oregon is a public university located in Eugene, Oregon. The university was founded in 1876, graduating its first class two years later. The University of Oregon is one of 60 members of the Association of American Universities. , students are setting up donation stations at the UO Bookstore and the Erb Memorial Union amphitheater, where they'll will collect contributions between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. They also will hold a candlelight vigil at 5 p.m. in the amphitheater. Money raised will go to OXFAM to help with rebuilding and medical needs. The effort is sponsored by the Oregon Student Public Interest Research Group, student government, the International Student Association and other campus groups. Lane Community College students also are joining the effort.
