College signs 10-year Brooklyn lease.

. The 10-year lease has an aggregate value of $5 million.

The college will occupy the entire sixth floor of the recently-renovated building, which is attached to Macy's department store. ESC, which specializes in education for working adults, will use the space to house its Central Brooklyn Center Brooklyn Center, city (1990 pop. 28,887), Hennepin co., SE Minn., a residential suburb of Minneapolis; inc. 1911. It has light industry and has been marked by suburban and economic growth since the 1970s. , formerly located in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. The Downtown Brooklyn space will also provide room for growth for ESC's Metropolitan Center, which will remain at 325 Hudson Street in the Hudson Square section of Manhattan.

Richard M. Warshauer of GVA Williams represented ESC in the transaction.

"With a more than 20-year-relationship with Empire State College, we knew it was crucial to find space that was both economically attractive and adaptable to an educational environment," said Warshauer. "We were pleased that 177 Livingston not only met that objective, but also is conveniently located right in the heart of Downtown Brooklyn - which has easy access to its Hudson Square center and all major transit lines."
