PLANS to rebuild a Teesside college have been given the green light. Hartlepool College of Further Education is one of only 12 of 180 colleges chosen by the Learning and Skills Council (LSC LSC Learning and Skills Council

) to proceed with a multi-million pound development. Principal and chief executive David Waddington David Waddington may refer to:
  • David Waddington (Essex) (fl. 1840s–1850s), Member of Parliament (MP) for Maldon 1847–1852, for Harwich 1852–1856
 said: "The LSC announcement is fantastic news for the college, for the town, employers and the community as whole." The new college is expected to cost pounds 51.3m. The new development is expected to ready in time for students beginning courses in 2011.
