College appointment for LI champion, Prudential CRES chaimaan Paul Elliott.

Paul Elliott, chairman, president and commercial director of Prudential CRES Commercial Real Estate (Medford, NY) has been elected to the Board of the Suffolk Community College Foundation.

The announcement comes on the heels of Mr. Elliott's recognition by the Foundation in its "Salute to Excellence 2006" gala in which he was presented with the "Corporate Leadership Award of Excellence".

The Suffolk Community College Foundation is a 501(c) 3 not-for-profit corporation formed to develop additional resources to enable the college to provide quality educational experiences for its students. Scholarship funds constitute the largest single use of the assets of the Foundation. Minority scholarships, honors scholarships and awards based on financial need and academic merit are funded by the Foundation. Suffolk County Community College is the largest multi-campus community college in the State University of New York (SUNY) system, serving 21,000 students and 10,500 continuing education students on three campus locations in Brentwood, Selden and Riverhead and the recently-opened Sayville Center. At Prudential CRES, Mr. Elliott applies over 25 years of experience managing all facets of real estate transactions. He emphasizes high standards of service quality as evidenced by the organization's effective quality assurance procedures and comprehensive broker development/training program.

Also reflecting his high standards and professional integrity is Mr. Elliott's portfolio development activities, the hallmark of which has been his fervent dedication to the local community and the enhancement of its quality of life. Upon investing in a property, he quickly analyzes it from a community perspective, considering how he can improve the property to affect a better quality of life for the surrounding communities. He has been effective in renovating scores of shopping centers, industrial and office buildings, transforming them into vibrant real estate holdings.

Further evidence of his commitment to enhancing the region's quality of life is Mr. Elliott's strong belief in the importance of giving back to the community. While modest about his philanthropy, he is none-the-less a dedicated benefactor to several local non-profit organizations including the Hope House Ministries for which he served on the Endowment Committee. Additionally, he encourages his staff to routinely support timely national and local efforts such as the Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund, children's holiday toy drives and food banks. For these causes and many others, he makes space available in one of the company's buildings to collect and store donations until they can be disbursed to those in need. In addition to the "Salute to Excellence" Award, Mr. Elliott recently received the "Service to Long Island" Award from the Smith Haven Ministries.

On the professional side, he was recently honored by the Prudential Real Estate organization with its prestigious "Roundtable" award recognizing his brokerage firm as the #1 firm in the Northeastern region.
