College's vaccine thank you.


A town centre pharmacy has stepped in to help staff at Huddersfield Technical College Huddersfield Technical College is a technical college located in Huddersfield, in the English county of West Yorkshire. There are many campuses dotted around the town and its suburbs. The main campus occupies the building of the former infirmary.  receive flu vaccinations.

Appointments had to be cancelled last month following a nationwide contamination scare.

The vaccine has been in short supply since then until Lloyds managed to track down find a large quantity.

Janet Fawcett, health and safety manager, said: "We can't thank Lloyds Pharmacy enough. We were getting worried that we wouldn't be able to give flu vaccinations to our staff this year.

"The chemist (jargon) chemist - (Cambridge) Someone who wastes computer time on number crunching when you'd far rather the computer were working out anagrams of your name or printing Snoopy calendars or running life patterns. May or may not refer to someone who actually studies chemistry.  worked really hard to find a supply of vaccinations for us so we can now continue with the programme.

"It's getting close to Christmas but it's still not too late for the vaccination vaccination, means of producing immunity against pathogens, such as viruses and bacteria, by the introduction of live, killed, or altered antigens that stimulate the body to produce antibodies against more dangerous forms.  to be effective over the coming months.

"It's good to see there are still people out there who will pull out all the stops to help others."

The college has been offering free flu vaccination to staff for the last five years.
