Collective efforts require defeating terrorism: Firdous.

ISLAMABAD, 06 April, 2009 (Balochistan Times) -- Minister for Population and Welfare Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan said on Monday that collective efforts from the political forces and civil society can defeat terrorism from the country. Talking to PTV, she said the government, opposition civil society and religious groups should jointly come forward to work for eliminating terrorism and extremism from the society. People belonging to all schools of thoughts, old and young should join hands against terrorism and extremism, she added. She said people should come above the political affiliation for saving Pakistan. It is prime duty of the masses to work to bring out country from the crisis, while setting aside party affiliations, she added. To a question she said people using religion for terrorist activities should be isolated. To a question, she said, Pakistan is victim of terrorism after 9/11. We are not fighting other war it is our own war, the minister added. To a question she said drone attack from US is proving counter productive.
