Collective celebration.INDIE rock Indie rock is a genre of alternative rock that primarily exists in the independent underground music scene. The term is sometimes used interchangeably with underground music as a whole, though more specifically implicates that the music meets the criterion of being rock, as band Jubilee, which has the legendary Dave Grohl as an occasional drummer, is coming to Tyneside as part of a UK tour. The group, which hails from Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850. , features the collective talents of Aaron North (Nine Inch Nails, The Icarus Line) on vocals and guitar, Michael Shuman (Queens of the Stone Age, Wires On Fire) on bass and vocals and Jeff Lynn (Wires On Fire) on guitar and organ. They also have what seems like a million different drummers - everyone ranging from Queen of the Stone Age's Josh Homme, Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails and, as mentioned, the Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl has had a bash. Having performed live for the first time in the UK earlier this year, Jubilee will be hitting the road again to support the release of second single In With The Out Crowd. Jubilee's music is described as: "Something like The Replacements, The Stone Roses, Neil Young, Blur, Jane's Addiction, Bob Dylan, Creedence Clearwater Revival, and The Verve, all sliced 'n' diced together quite nicely." The band has already written and recorded heaps of songs, which will be realeased via Bsides, EPs, bonus tracks, and even an exclusive seven-inch vinyl single for people who sign up for the band's "yearly digital release membership".
