Collapsed Golden Wonder makes 200 staff redundant.


NEARLY 200 staff at collapsed crisp maker Golden Wonder were yesterday told that they would be made redundant by the end of this week.

Most employees at its Corby Corby, town (1991 pop. 48,704) and district, Northamptonshire, central England. Situated over one of the world's largest ironstone fields, Corby has grown rapidly since the 1930s, when new techniques of steel production were developed.  factory in Northamptonshire will go once the bulk of production of its own label crisps and the Golden Lights range is moved to a plant in Scunthorpe.

The job losses were announced by administrator Kroll, which took control of Golden Wonder earlier this month after losses of pounds 10.8m in 2004 were followed by "significant losses" in 2005.
