Sunset Stationers Implements First Operational Use

of the PrintTalk Specification

Collabria(TM), Inc., changing the way business creates, manufactures and delivers print and digital assets, today announced the first implementation of the PrintTalk(TM) interface specification. PrintTalk, a consortium of companies serving the graphic arts industry, was established in June 2000 to define a communications interface that allows job management data to flow freely and openly among all graphic arts products and systems.

PROFIT Control Systems, Inc. (PCS), a provider of advanced Management Information Systems for the print industry, together with Collabria, integrated the PrintTalk interface specification into the PCS C/S Series print management system operating on the Collabria PrintCommerce(TM) service. In the first commercial validation of the PrintTalk specification, Sunset Stationers, Inc., is now implementing the integrated system. Located in Wharton, NJ, Sunset Stationers is a commercial printer specializing in corporate identity products such as business cards and letterhead for companies nationwide.

PrintTalk supports the use of the proposed Job Definition Format (JDF), which is the emerging standard for the graphic arts domain, and Commercial eXtensible Markup Language (cXML), which is the communication standard of the e-commerce domain. PrintTalk began releasing implementation specifications in September 2000. Both Collabria and PCS are founding members of PrintTalk.
