Collaborative Groupware to work with Lotus Development Corp. to integrate JOT-IT! Collaboration with Lotus Domino.Applications.


VANCOUVER, British Columbia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 20, 1997--Collaborative Groupware Software that supports multiple users working on related tasks in local and remote networks. Also called "collaborative software," groupware is an evolving concept that is more than just multiuser software which allows access to the same data. , Inc. (a subsidiary of JOT-IT! Software Corp.) and Lotus Development Corp. have formed a strategic relationship to integrate JOT-IT! Collaboration with the Lotus family of Domino.Applications.

For example, by using Domino.Action, Lotus' solution for the rapid, easy creation and management of an extensible intranet powered by the Domino server, a development team creating a web site could share work flow comments with each other by attaching messages to pages under development. Then market researchers accessing the finished web site could attach comments and inform others of any interesting web pages or process changes. In another example, organizations using e-commerce solutions developed with Domino.Merchant, Lotus' Domino-based business solution for Internet commerce, can use JOT-IT! as an ad hoc For this purpose. Meaning "to this" in Latin, it refers to dealing with special situations as they occur rather than functions that are repeated on a regular basis.
