The store has just signed a long-term lease at 11 West 42nd St. for approximately 11,000 SF of retail space. Coliseum, which grew to be the largest independent bookstore in Manhattan, was a New York City cultural icon A cultural icon is an object or person which is distinctive to, or particularly representative of, a specific culture. The store was staffed with bibliophiles, and was known for its excellent and eclectic stock of books. The store closed its Columbus Circle Columbus Circle, named for Christopher Columbus, is a major landmark and point of attraction in the New York City borough of Manhattan. Completed in 1905 and renovated a century later, it is located at the intersection of Broadway, Central Park West, Central Park South (59th location last January year when its lease expired. The new store, across from the New York City Public Library at 42nd Street, will be a full-service bookstore, and will also feature a coffee and wine bar. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of retailer.
