The Boston Society of Film Critics has named Colin Farrell Best Actor of the Year for his performance as a soldier whose rebelliousness and disobedience trigger unexpected and far-reaching consequences in a platoon about to be shipped to Vietnam, in New Regency Pictures's acclaimed drama "Tigerland."

The Boston critics' picks have often matched those receiving Oscar nods, including Hilary Swank as Best Actress for "Boys Don't Cry," Geoffrey Rush Geoffrey Roy Rush (born 6 July 1951) is an Academy Award- and Emmy Award-winning Australian actor.
