Colfax International today announced two next-generation workstations for performance-oriented customers to run the most demanding applications. The systems are based on the new Intel(R) Xeon(TM) Processor with EM64T (Extended Memory 64 Technology) The first name of Intel's 64-bit x86 CPUs. In 2006, the name of the technology was changed to "Intel 64." See Intel 64.  Technology, Intel(R) E7525 chipset which incorporates PCI Express(TM) and dual-channel DDR (Double Data Rate) Refers to an SDRAM memory chip that increases performance by doubling the effective data rate of the frontside bus. For more details, see SDRAM.

"We foresee a quick transition from AGP (Accelerated Graphics Port) A high-speed 32-bit port from Intel for attaching a display adapter to a PC. It provides a direct connection between the card and memory, and only one AGP slot is on the motherboard.  to PCI express based systems across all market segments," said Mike Fay, Vice President, Colfax International. "We're pleased to bring innovative solutions to the market, addressing the needs of today's most demanding scientific, engineering and creative professionals."

CX815 and CX810

The Colfax CX815 is a high-end platform ready to meet multiple application challenges - including computer aided design (application) Computer Aided Design - (CAD) The part of CAE concerning the drawing or physical layout steps of engineering design. Often found in the phrase "CAD/CAM" for ".. manufacturing".  (CAD), scientific visualization and visual effects. Harnessing the advanced computing power of dual Intel(R) Xeon(TM) processors, this system creates a strong foundation well suited to the needs of high-performance computing (HPC (Handheld PC) A palmtop computer that weighs less than one pound and runs specialized versions of popular applications.
