Coldwell Banker boosts broker training program.

Coldwell Banker Commercial is enhancing the career path and development of its professionals by way of a comprehensive curriculum of learning programs and tools known as Commercial University.

The CBC organization has made a concerted effort over the last few years to build Commercial University into a world class learning resource. The current program offered is allowing the company to stake a claim as an industry leader in commercial real estate professional development.

David Birnbaum, Commercial University "dean," and Senior Director of Learning has led the charge in forming the program's curriculum, which offers performance-based courses for different company roles and experience levels. Commercial University also offers a variety of participation options from traditional classroom to interactive webinars and self-paced web-based training through the CBC intranet, Blueprint. In addition, a library of job aids is housed on the Blueprint site.

"We continually evaluate the effectiveness of our entire Learning program to ensure we are providing affiliated CBC professionals with useful training that addresses current market conditions," Bimbaum notes. "The feedback we have received from participants as well as the measured performance in all our courses has been consistently positive. In particular, the one program that has been singled out for producing the highest levels of measureable impact is our proprietary (EBT) program for new-to-the industry professionals, 30 of whom graduated in February."

Emerging Broker Training: Staged over four months, the EBT is considered the foundation of the CBC learning program and is aimed at professionals with less than one year of experience in commercial sales/leasing. Considered one of the most comprehensive new broker training programs in the industry, EBT is held three times a year and is designed to train new brokers on the critical skills they need to hit the ground running.
