 relating to patent infringement claims between the companies. Coin X Change has acknowledged that the Coinstar patents in dispute are valid and have been infringed by Coin X Change. The Court has issued an injunction prohibiting Coin X Change from using the patented inventions without authorization from Coinstar.

The Coinstar patents (U.S. Patents 7,028,827 and 6,976,570) are directed at Coinstar's business model of placing self-service coin-counting machines in grocery stores and other retail locations; and the ability of machines to remotely communicate their status.
