Coinstar Announces All-Time Quarterly Installation Record.

), a leading retail-based coin counting and e-services company, today announced that it set a new quarterly installation record during the third quarter.

Between July 1 and September 30, 1999, Coinstar's field installation team installed 669 machines in supermarkets throughout the country. This incredible installation pace resulted in Coinstar's surpassing its previous quarterly installation record of 548 machines, set in the second quarter of 1999. During the first nine months of this year, Coinstar has installed more machines than it installed in all of 1998.

Machine installations in two of the nation's leading supermarket chains, Safeway and Albertson's Food and Drug, made up a large portion of the record third quarter installations. Most of the machines installed in Safeway went into stores in their Northern California Northern California, sometimes referred to as NorCal, is the northern portion of the U.S. state of California.
