He enjoyed a fine season over hurdles last term, winning twice and finishing second before turning in a career-best effort to fill the runner-up spot at Aintree.

Sent off 100-1 that day, Comhla Ri Coig went down by just half a length to Ogee o·gee

Four Years Old Novices' Chase has produced good performers over the years, and Recif De Thaix can continue that trend.

It is interesting Paul Nicholls has opted to send this Frenchbred gelding straight over fences after a bumper win last February.

Following a fourth place on his British debut, Recif De Thaix made full use of his weight advantage to triumph over older horses at Sandown.

Nicholls has won this race four times since 2001 and Recif De Thaix can make it five.

Pachattack has yet to get her head in front in four starts this year, but a drop in class can see her get off the mark at Kempton.

Trainer Gerard Butler has lowered his sights slightly to tackle the Groomed To Perfection, The Kia Soul Conditions Stakes after campaigning his charge in Pattern company earlier this year.

The Pulpit filly finished fourth in a Group Three at the back end of the 2008 season and Butler felt she was good enough to contest the Pretty Polly first time up.

However, she was outclassed by Take The Hint, while she stood no chance of getting near dual Oaks winner Sariska in the Musidora.

She was saddled with top weight when second in a Newmarket handicap in September, an effort which must see her in the frame off bottom weight.
