Process Integration Functionality

Cohera(R) Corporation, the leader in e-catalog software for e-businesses, and Netfish Technologies, Inc., the premiere provider of XML-based business-to-business e-commerce solutions, today announced that they will combine the Netfish B2B processes integration solution with Cohera's dynamic catalog aggregation and management for e-marketplaces. This agreement allows trading partners to work together and exchange data more effectively through e-marketplaces, supporting intelligent buying decisions and efficient business processes.

Through this collaboration, the Netfish XDI (XRI Data Interchange) An emerging OASIS standard for data exchange and synchronization on the Internet. XDI is based on the OASIS XRI digital identifier standard for i-names and i-numbers (see XRI and i-name for details). (TM) system's transactional and business process integration capabilities will work together with Cohera's powerful E-Catalog System(TM). The result provides an environment for viewing catalog information and process transactions online by integrating the product selection and purchase with the buyer's internal ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) An integrated information system that serves all departments within an enterprise. Evolving out of the manufacturing industry, ERP implies the use of packaged software rather than proprietary software written by or for one customer.  and legacy systems. Leveraging complementary strengths, the combined technologies support value-added services, such as supply chain management, logistics coordination and order fulfillment Order fulfillment (in BE also: order fulfilment) is in the most general sense the complete process from point of sales inquiry to delivery of a product to the customer. Sometimes Order fulfillment , while delivering the e-marketplace's dynamic e-catalog.

"Building a strong e-business requires companies to choose proven technologies that can be integrated easily and deliver promised functionality quickly," said Steven Dodds, vice president of business development for Cohera Corporation. "By partnering with Netfish, Cohera expands the functionality of the E-Catalog System offering e-market participants a means to engage business-to-business e-commerce in the most effective and efficient way possible."

"Exchange builders will now have a choice technology package for building an electronic marketplace," said Gary Kinghorn, senior director of business development at Netfish Technologies. "Cohera and Netfish jointly offer the bulk of an exchange's infrastructure: an aggregated catalog of all the suppliers' products with a means of accessing the e-marketplace from buyers' ERP systems and supply-chain applications, thus automating their business processes. This results in dramatic gains in business efficiency and bottom-line cost savings."

The two companies also announced a joint marketing agreement allowing them to reference sell each other's products. This process will be integrated through an adapter developed by Netfish to the Cohera E-Catalog System. Availability of the Cohera adapter is scheduled for later this quarter.

About the Cohera E-Catalog System

The Cohera E-Catalog System(TM) lets developers of B2B e-marketplaces retrieve data on demand from multiple catalog sources -- that often exist in various locations and numerous formats -- and convert the information into a single, standards-based format. Buyers accessing a Cohera-powered e-marketplace are presented with a single view of the data. Unlike e-catalog vendors that approach cataloging by either integrating data or managing content, Cohera focuses on both operations and is able to broker catalog data in real time from multiple suppliers. Thus, Cohera offers the most complete technology for retrieving and managing data within dynamic e-marketplaces.
