Cohen Joins Whirlpool as Whirlpool Brand Vice President.

BENTON HARBOR, Mich.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 12, 2000

Whirlpool Corporation (NYSE:WHR) today announced that Jeffrey B. Cohen joined the company as vice president, Whirlpool Brand in North America, and an officer of the company.

Cohen will report to Michael A. Todman, senior vice president, Sales and Marketing, Whirlpool North America.

Cohen joins Whirlpool from OnStar, a subsidiary of General Motors (GM) Corporation in Troy, Mich.

Cohen's most recent position at GM was executive director, Sales and Services Marketing for the company's OnStar service. In this position he led the dramatic growth of OnStar, including negotiations to leverage OnStar to global automotive customers.

Prior to OnStar, Cohen led the branded business of GM's mid-size sport-utility vehicles as brand manager for the GMC Jimmy and Envoy. Earlier in his career, Cohen gained significant experience in marketing consumer packaged goods at Nabisco Biscuit Company in East Hanover, N.J., and Johnson & Johnson Consumer Products Company in Skillman, N.J.

Cohen earned a master's degree in marketing and finance from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill. He also holds a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Rochester in Rochester, N.Y.
