Cohen, Milstein, Hausfeld & Toll, P.L.L.C. Announces U.S. Court of Appeals Opens Way for Holocaust Victims to Sue German Companies for Additional Funds.

WASHINGTON -- Cohen cohen
 or kohen

(Hebrew: “priest”) Jewish priest descended from Zadok (a descendant of Aaron), priest at the First Temple of Jerusalem. The biblical priesthood was hereditary and male.
, Milstein, Hausfeld & Toll, P.L.L.C., today announce a major Third Circuit Court of Appeals decision on behalf of victims of the Holocaust. Holocaust survivors There are many famous Holocaust survivors who survived the Nazi genocides in Europe and went on to achievements of great fame and notability. Those listed here were, at the very least, residents of the parts of Europe occupied by the Axis powers during World War II who survived  contended that the German companies had not met their obligations under the international agreement that resolved claims that German companies had used and profited from forced and slave labor during World War II. Survivors contended that the German companies had shortchanged the settlement fund, which was created in 2001 with the substantial involvement of the U.S. and German governments to benefit Nazi victims and their descendants. A lower court had said the dispute was a political or diplomatic matter out of the reach of U.S. courts. The Third Circuit Court of Appeals overturned that ruling, and said legal action in the U.S. is appropriate.

"We are very pleased with the Court of Appeals decision . It is important to hold these German companies to agreement we reached and not allow them to short change survivors of the Holocaust," said Agnieszka Fryszman, lead attorney for the Holocaust victims While victims of the Holocaust were primarily Jews, the Nazis also persecuted and often killed millions of members of other groups they considered inferior, undesirable or dangerous.  in this case. Ms. Fryszman is a partner with Cohen, Milstein, Hausfeld & Toll (Washington, D.C.) "The interest monies collected from the German companies could range to $700 million or more, and will be used to compensate survivors of medical experimentation, forced and slave labor and other Nazi wrongdoing wrong·do·er
