Cognos and Composite Software Extend Strategic Relationship to Offer Out-of-the-Box Packaged SAP, Siebel Reports; Cognos to Offer Report Packs and Adapters, Powered by Composite.

Under the expanded agreement, Cognos will sell Cognos 8 Report Packs -- a set of out-of-the-box, frequently used reports for mySAP (R/3) and Siebel, built on Composite technology. Customers will now have pre-built reports for packaged applications that can be used immediately and customized easily on the Cognos 8 BI platform without needing to alter mySAP (R/3) and Siebel. The initial release of Cognos 8 Report Packs will contain over 60 reports each for mySAP (R/3) and Siebel, available separately.

Composite Software's technology simplifies on-demand access to complex packaged applications, accelerating dashboard, single-view and ad-hoc reporting. Composite also enables mySAP (R/3) and Siebel data to be queried and delivered as Web services, allowing customers to easily incorporate these applications into their service-oriented architecture (SOA).

Cognos 8 Report Packs extend the value of current enterprise investments by providing -- for the first time -- the ability to combine, in one report or dashboard, historic data from the data warehouse with current data in mySAP (R/3) and Siebel operational systems. As a result, organizations achieve the most complete view of enterprise performance while eliminating the cost and effort required for separate, operational reporting projects. Cognos 8 Report Packs also deliver pre-defined content for more than 60 frequently used reports to provide immediate access to mySAP (R/3) and Siebel data within a business context. In addition, the embedded Composite Information Server (CIS) from Composite Software provides adapters for one-click connectivity into mySAP (R/3) and Siebel, delivering secure and trusted pathways to build additional reports.
