The human resources department within an organization, years ago known as the "personnel department," manages the administrative aspects of the employees. , effective April 16. Mr. Duranton will be responsible for leading the company's worldwide human resources organization.

Mr. Duranton joins Cognos with over 17 years of experience in global human resources management and development, including senior positions with Gemplus, Vivendi Universal and Thales. Prior to joining Cognos, Mr. Duranton served as senior executive vice president, human resources, at Gemplus, a leading company in digital security. Earlier, he served as senior executive vice president, general affairs, at Vivendi Universal TV and Film Group. Mr. Duranton also served in various senior human resources roles during his time at Thales, a world leader in defense, aerospace, security and services.
