Cognis sells off PVC stabilizers.


Cognis Corp., the German-based oleochemicals company that was once part of Henkel, has sold its PVC PVC: see polyvinyl chloride.

 stabilizers business to a consortium of Reagens SpA of Bologna, Italy, and Sun Ace Kakoh Pte. Ltd. of Singapore. The stabilizers consist primarily of Stabiol calcium-zinc products. Cognis, which has U.S. offices in Ambler, Pa., also supplies Loxiol lubricants lubricants

preparations for the lubrication of passages to reduce frictional injury, e.g. oily preparations, including petroleum jelly, lanolin or water-soluble preparations such as methyl cellulose.
 plus anti-stats and plasticizers plasticizers

mostly triaryl phosphates, such as tricresyl, triphenyl phosphates, which are poisonous. See also triorthocresyl phosphate.
