Cells for in-Production Repetitive Part Measurements

CogniTens Ltd. announced the receipt of several orders both for the Optigo 200 portable 3D non-contact measurement systems and first orders for its OptiCell automated 3D non-contact robotic cell for in-production repetitive part measurements.

The orders were received from TSK, the Japanese distributor of CogniTens for its OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) The rebranding of equipment and selling it. The term initially referred to the company that made the products (the "original" manufacturer), but eventually became widely used to refer to the organization that buys the products and  and Tier One customers, and are being supplied during Q1 and Q2 2003. With the installation of these systems on order, the total installation of Optigo systems in Japan will be a few dozen systems, and Optigo plays an increasingly important role in production engineering processes in Japan. One of the largest car manufacturers in Japan has selected Optigo and OptiCell, after prolonged pro·long

Avi Elazar, Representative Director of CogniTens Japan, adds: "We have an excellent market recognition in Japan. Our customers appreciate the uniqueness of our products and have ordered additional systems after they understand that our system dramatically shortens their processes and improves the product quality."

CogniTens offers an entire family of measurement systems for the different measuring needs of the automotive and aerospace industries. The systems allow collection of highly accurate and dense clouds of points, and immediate analysis of the collected data to find deviations from specifications and flaws in tools and parts. Image acquisition is performed in sub-millisecond single exposures preventing measurement errors that can be induced induced /in·duced/ (in-dldbomacst´)

-- Optigo 200, the portable member of the family, is designed for process engineering, tool development and production ramp-up, and reduces the time it takes to develop dies and molds and improves the quality of parts manufactured. The built-in applications allow instantaneous handling of the collected data to provide the user with measurement results of surfaces and features, comparisons to CAD, Digital and Virtual Assembly tools, visualization, and reporting.

-- OptiCell is an automated measurement system designed for on-line process control and quality assurance on the shop floor. Highly accurate measurement capabilities and automatic repetitive measurement functions allow the OptiCell to measure multiple parts in sequence, providing manufacturing managers with part to CAD deviation information, trend reports and go/no-go utilities.

CogniTens is a supplier for non-contact 3D measurement solutions for the automotive and aerospace industries. CogniTens' systems offer a unique combination of accuracy and superior image acquisition capabilities and perform full and accurate measurements on the shop floor, from the initial stages of design, engineering, and tooling through mass production and quality assurance.
