CogniTens 3D Vision Systems Ltd. ("CogniTens") announced it has delivered its first 3D non-contact measurement systems, the Optigo(TM) 100 and Optigo 100E systems, to customers in Europe in Q2 2001.

Systems have been installed at a leading manufacturer of quality automobiles based in Southern Germany The term Southern Germany (German: Süddeutschland) is used to describe a region in the south of Germany. An additional system has been installed at a Dearborn, MI based leading automotive manufacturer, following several installations in the USA in late 2000. Several systems have also been installed in Japan this year, after initial sales started in early 2000. All these markets are characterized char·ac·ter·ize

In 2006, more than 69 million motor vehicles, including cars and commercial vehicles were produced worldwide. . Our Optigo systems offer our customers a wide range of applications, including root-cause analysis, digital assembly of car components, accurate non-contact measurement and assembly accuracy monitoring. But we offer more than just another measurement system to the market: our technology will change the way process control is performed today, by offering systems that are capable of measuring different materials, in a full industrial environment, directly on the production floor."

CogniTens' Optigo product line provides a comprehensive solution for today's growing measurement needs of the automotive manufacturing industry. The system delivers both full surface measurements as very large data sets of hundreds of thousands of points, and single point analysis, combined in one system, in a single shot. Due to very high image acquisition speed, measurements can be performed on the shop floor, with an accuracy of down to 20 microns, regardless of the complexity, size or features of a part. Analysis of the 3D measurements include highly dense coordinates of an object's surface, cross-sections, measurement of features such as holes and slots, as well as object edges. The systems are recognized by industry experts to be based on the most suitable technology existing today for measurements on the shop floor.
