Codling leaves the Arms Park after just one game.

CARDIFF RFC Cardiff Rugby Football Club was founded 1876. The club played their first few matches at Sophia Gardens, but soon relocated to Cardiff Arms Park, where they have been based ever since.  are looking for a new head coach after newly appointed boss Alex Codling decided to relinquish his post at the club with immediate effect.

Codling, 35, was only in charge for one game after being installed last month as the successor to Justin Burnell, who was handed the Blues forwards job in the summer.

But the former England second-row and Ebbw Vale Ebbw Vale (ĕb`), Welsh Glyn Ebwy, town (1981 pop. 24,422), Blaenau Gwent, SE Wales.  coach was attempting to combine the role with a teaching post and realised the travelling was too much to sustain.

"Alex was hoping that he could balance the twin responsibilities of his role as director of sport at Trinity School, in Croydon, with his appointment as the Blue and Blacks' head coach," said Cardiff rugby chairman Malcolm Childs.

"Unfortunately he has found the amount of travelling required for up to four times a week as well as the responsibilities of both jobs too much.

"We've reluctantly accepted his decision to stand down."

The club will look for a new boss with Lee Jarvis and Howard Stone resuming the part-time duties they had in the first month of the season before Codling's first appointment.

The club has confirmed that the first team squad will play an extra friendly fixture against Beddau at Cardiff Arms Park tomorrow evening (7.15pm).
