Codemasters Hires New Executive Vice President of U.S. Marketing; Steven Lux to Spearhead Company's Growing U.S. Operations.

Codemasters, the global video game development and publishing company, announced today the hiring of Steven Lux as executive vice president of U.S. marketing. Based in the company's New York City New York City: see New York, city.

 office, Lux will direct Codemasters' marketing, distribution and new business development in the U.S., furthering the company's worldwide growth.

The appointment of Lux is a significant step in Codemasters' initiative to publish more U.S.-centric products. Codemasters recently announced the acquisition of interactive video game publishing rights to the television reality series sensation, "American Idol American Idol is an annual American televised singing competition, which began its first season on June 11, 2002. Part of the Idol franchise, it originated from the British reality program Pop Idol. ," and is scheduled to release its IndyCar(TM) Series video game for the PlayStation(R)2 computer entertainment system on May 20 -- just in time for the Indianapolis 500 race.

Previously, Lux spent 12 years with veteran games publisher, Acclaim Entertainment, beginning as the company's first marketing manager and advancing to Acclaim's vice president of marketing. While at Acclaim, Lux developed and executed brand strategies for Acclaim, Acclaim Sports and Club Acclaim. Lux holds a B.A. in Psychology from Emory University Emory University (ĕm`ərē), near Atlanta, Ga.; coeducational; United Methodist; chartered as Emory College 1836, opened 1837 at Oxford. It became Emory Univ. in 1915 and in 1919 moved to Atlanta.  and an M.B.A. in Marketing from Boston University.
