CodeBlazer Technologies Acquires Multimedia Applications from University of Minnesota; UPresent and UGather to be Re-released.

CodeBlazer Technologies, LLC., a leading publisher of cross platform multimedia software solutions, announced today the acquisition of two multimedia applications, UPresent(R) and UGather(R), from the University of Minnesota. The acquisition was closed effective February 28, 2001, following the approval of both organizations. Upon completion of several product enhancements, including MacOS X compatibility, publish-to-web, and dynamic HTML help, UPresent and UGather will be re-released and marketed under the CodeBlazer Technologies corporate umbrella.

UPresent is a powerful multimedia presentation tool that has been developed and used over the last ten years at the University of Minnesota, as well as thousands of sites around the world. UPresent allows users to incorporate text, photos and illustrations, digital video and audio, live and streaming video, videodiscs, URLs, software applications, animations, and 3D models. The product also contains a digital white/blackboard that can be used with or without a graphics LCD tablet. UPresent is the ideal multimedia presentation tool for the education, corporate and consumer markets, as well as, publishers who wish to distribute multimedia content with textbooks and/or produce products for distance education.

UGather, developed as a multimedia database application for archiving, searching, previewing, and selecting material for use with UPresent, can be used alone to help manage multimedia libraries. Based on easy-to-use interface navigation, UGather can quickly set up multiple databases of images, QuickTime movies, audio files, and 3DMF models. Many different types of information can be related to each database record, such as author name, copyright information, and any amount of text, graphics, and audio.
