A puzzle is a problem or enigma that challenges ingenuity.
 has double the fun. ONE: Crack the code to figure out the surnames of 13 famous explorers. Write them on the dashed dash 1

 lines, one letter per line. (We did one for you.) TWO: Two letters in each decoded name are numbered. Write those letters on the appropriate lines below to discover the name of a classic adventure novel. Hint: Two is a clue to the code!

To decode (1) To convert coded data back into its original form. Contrast with encode.
