Chestnut, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of The Coca-Cola Company, as a member of the Board. Mr. Chestnut now will serve until the annual meeting in April and then stand for election by share owners for a term expiring in 2001. Mr. Chestnut's election returns the Board to 14 members for the first time since the resignation last year of Mr. Neville Isdell, who was named chairman of Coca-Cola Beverages Ltd. Mr. Chestnut joined The Coca-Cola Company in 1972. He was named to his current position in 1994 after being elected vice president and controller in 1993. He served as Finance Manager of The Coca-Cola Company's North Pacific Division and Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Coca-Cola (Japan) Company Limited from 1989 to 1993. Prior to 1989, Mr. Chestnut held a variety of financial management positions in the U.K., the Philippines and Atlanta, including assistant treasurer for The Coca-Cola Export Corporation. In addition to his responsibilities with The Coca-Cola Company, Mr. Chestnut serves as a director of Coca-Cola FEMSA Coca-Cola FEMSA is the anchor bottler of Coca-Cola and its related soft drink products in much of Latin America.
