Casey said, "Gladden brings to his new role on the Board a thorough knowledge of the Coca-Cola system and the Canadian soft drink industry that will help Coca-Cola Beverages achieve its business objectives."

Gladden is a native of Atlanta, Georgia and holds the position of Senior Vice President and General Counsel of The Coca-Cola Company. He is a founding member of the Board of Directors of Coca-Cola Beverages.

The appointment was made after the recent announcement that former Chairman Ira C. Herbert had died suddenly. Herbert held the position of Chairman for Coca-Cola Beverages in Canada since 1987, following a distinguished career with The Coca-Cola Company in the U.S.A. since 1965.
