Coburn-Carson senate race.

Thank you for publishing Bill Jasper's outstanding article on the Tom Coburn/grad Carson Carson, city (1990 pop. 83,995), Los Angeles co., S Calif., an industrial and residential suburb of Los Angeles; inc. 1968. Oil refining is the major industry; fabricated metals, paper, and other products are manufactured. The California State Univ. Dominguez Hills is there. Senate contest in Oklahoma ("Maverick vs. Chameleon").

Just today (Wednesday, October 27) Brad Carson launched a radio ad which, even for him, is a new low. The ad, running with the "approved by Brad Carson" tag line, calls Dr. Coburn an abortionist abortionist /abor·tion·ist/ (ah-bor´shun-ist) one who performs abortions..

Dr. Coburn has delivered more than 3,500 babies over the past 20 years. On just two occasions, it was necessary to end a pregnancy. In those cases, the mother's heart and lungs had failed and both mother and child were about to die. In each case, Dr. Coburn did what he had to do to save the life of the mother.

These tragedies are the sole basis of Carson's branding Dr. Coburn an abortionist. Has he no shame at all?
