Coburg drew statewide criticism under Hudson for generating up to $750,000 of its annual revenue from aggressive ticketing of speeding drivers on nearby Interstate 5. He resigned in late 2004, in a deal that included $120,000 in severance pay Severance Pay

De Montmorency had sought $1.2 million, charging that she was fired from her $52,000 post in violation of her contract.

De Montmorency also charged that her firing was part of an effort to silence city employees critical of the freeway ticketing policy.

The agreement, signed Monday, also prohibits Coburg officials from giving de Montmorency a negative employment reference if contacted by prospective employers.

The city is still recovering from that budget shortfall, which resulted in city layoffs and program cuts.
