Hemingway Hem·ing·way , Ernest Miller 1899-1961. American writer. A World War I ambulance driver, journalist, and expatriate in Paris during the 1920s, he wrote short stories and novels, such as The Sun Also Rises (1926) and , the Company's Vice Chairman and member of its Board of Directors since 1982, has resigned from Coastal's Board. Mr. Hemingway cited personal reasons for his resignation.
