Once the trail is completed, they will turn round and cycle back. The team, which aims to raise more than pounds 1,000 for the mother and baby charity, will set off today in Whitehaven. Their route runs through the northern Lake District before climbing into the hill country of the North Pennines The North Pennines is the northernmost part of the so-called 'backbone of England', the range of hills which runs through the centre of the northern half of England, from north to south. .
