William Pomponio, 60, of Canada fractured his ankle in a fall while working aboard the Ocean Oregon, a U.S.-flagged barge. The Coast Guard was called when it was determined that a helicopter would be the safest way to remove Pomponio from the boat.

The helicopter landed aboard the barge, and a Coast Guard rescue swimmer ] produced by Tam Communications, working in association with the Discovery Channel. Pomponio was at the hospital Wednesday night in good condition, a nursing supervisor said.
