Coalition seeks award nominees.


The Coalition for Recreational Trails is seeking nominations for its 2006 achievement awards to recognize outstanding trail projects funded by the Recreational Trails Program.

The awards will be presented during Great Outdoors Week, June June: see month.  12-16, in Washington Washington, town, England
Washington, town (1991 pop. 48,856), Sunderland metropolitan district, NE England. Washington was designated one of the new towns in 1964 to alleviate overpopulation in the Tyneside-Wearside area.

Capitol, seat of the U.S. government at Washington, D.C. It is the city's dominating monument, built on an elevated site that was chosen by George Washington in consultation with Major Pierre L'Enfant.

Winners will be selected from projects nominated nom·i·nate  
tr.v. nom·i·nat·ed, nom·i·nat·ing, nom·i·nates
1. To propose by name as a candidate, especially for election.

2. To designate or appoint to an office, responsibility, or honor.
 by public agencies, trail administrators or other project sponsors. Nominated projects need to have taken place between 1998 and the present. Award categories include construction and design, maintenance and rehabilitation rehabilitation: see physical therapy. , education and communication initiatives, accessibility enhancement, multiple-use management or "corridor sharing" environment/wildlife compatability and use of youth conservation/service corps. Nominations are due by April 17.
