Coalition scoring a big hit.A volunteer group for North East teenagers held a celebration to mark the completion of college courses. The coalition works closely with youth and community projects in Northumberland and Tyneside to improve the education and support available for young people. Courses were run as part of the Open College Network-accredited SkIL programme and the Odysseus mentoring programme. The Odysseus programme supports young people who are or have been at risk of offending, through their relationship with volunteers. People travelled from as far afield as Berwick, Blyth and Sunderland to get their certificates, presented by Mike Dennison of the Open College Network and Anne Tate, the chief executive of the Charity. |
