"Luggage security is an urgent issue in this age of terrorism and leaders in the transportation industry understand that as a Coalition we can pool collective expertise and bring long overdue ideas for reform to the nation's decision-makers," said Richard Altomare, Founder and Chairman of the Coalition for Luggage Security and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. In view of the recent terrorist attacks in London, Coalition leaders are eager to discuss new solutions to the threat of luggage and/or cargo bomb explosions in the air or on the ground. The centerpiece of the Coalition's campaign is a policy paper authored by Mr. Altomare entitled "More Safety, Less Hassle for American Travelers: A Private Sector Solution for the Airline Industry," (www.usxp.com/securitywp.pdf). The paper advocates that for security reasons, luggage should be viewed as cargo and shipped separately from passengers. Relative to this debate is a Fox News interview that can be viewed on the Coalition's web site: www.luggagesecuritycoalition.com.
